We have a few permission levels to allow you flexibility with how users interact with Trainual. There is no requirement for how you split up these permissions - if you want everyone to be an Admin, feel free! We'll explain these permissions below. 

Billing Admin

  • Has full navigation menu including subjects, users and reports
  • Can add/remove users and designate permissions
  • Can create and assign roles to users
  • Can moderate forum and accept answers
  • Can approve or deny library requests
  • Can edit account settings such as branding
  • Can connect to thousands of apps through our Zapier integration
  • Can manage billing details

Admin

  • Has all of the same permissions as an admin but cannot manage billing details

Manager

  • Can complete Subjects, take tests, and reference material
  • Can create and publish new Subjects
  • Can see My Desk, Forum (if enabled), Library (if enabled) & Subjects
  • Can manager users for teams they are assigned
  • Can manage content for Subjects they are assigned
  • Can view report data on Subjects assigned to their team(s)

Author

  • Can complete Subjects, take tests, and reference material
  • Can create and publish new Subjects
  • Cannot edit Subjects that have not been assigned to them
  • Can see My Desk, Forum (if enabled), Library (if enabled) & Subjects

Contributor (formerly Creator) 

  • Can complete Subjects, take tests, and reference material
  • Can edit Subjects that have been assigned to them and move them to Pending Review status
  • Can only see My Desk, Forum (if enabled) & Library (if enabled)

General

  • The most basic user type which can complete Subjects, take tests, and reference material
  • Can only see My Desk, Forum (if enabled) & Library (if enabled)

Creator

  • Can edit content an admin has assigned to them
  • Cannot create new Subjects, add users or view reports

Editor (this has been replaced by Contributor) 

  • Can edit Subjects they have been assigned to
  • When an editor marks a Subject as Pending Review, we will notify all admins to review for approval
  • When an editor edits something that has already been published, it will be returned to draft mode until approved by an admin
