Want to know the best way to start structuring your business playbook content in Trainual? You're in the right spot! By using Roles, you can assign content to your teammates based on their responsibilities. Not only does this help you strategically build out your content, but it serves as a powerhouse for getting your playbook in the hands of your teammates.

To create a new role from the Roles page:

  1. Navigate to the Roles page by clicking People on the left-hand navigation bar and clicking "Roles"

  2. Click "Add Role" on the top right-hand corner

  3. Type in a title for your Role

  4. Click "Save"

🔥 Tip: Not sure where to start? Click the dropdown next to "Add Role" (mentioned in Step #2) and click "Suggested Roles." Add common Roles for your industry by clicking the ones you want to use. When you're all done, click "Save."

To create a new role from the Manager page:

  1. Navigate to the Manage People page by clicking People on the left-hand navigation bar and clicking "Manage"

  2. Click the "Filters" button

  3. Click the "Add Role" link

  4. Add the name of the Role

  5. Select the Subjects to associate to the Role

  6. Click "Create"

🔥 Tip: You can filter the Subjects page to show only the Subjects associated with a select Role. Simply click the "Filters" button > click the Roles dropdown menu > select a Role > click "Apply."
