The people page just got a lot more exciting! Admins can now manage people, view the directory, create or edit role & org charts, and create or edit roles, all within the People page.

Let's review each section below! ⬇


πŸ—‚ Manage people

This is where you will invite new people and change existing people in your account.

  1. Locate and click 'People' from the left navigation menu.

  2. Click 'Manage.'

  3. Select a person to view their full profile, including additional information about them like their 'About Me' bio, 'Subjects Assigned,' and 'Latest Activity.'

    1. πŸ“ Note: If you have permission levels below Manager, you will only see the 'About Me' section.

To make changes to a person, you can do so by clicking the three dots to the far right of their name and clicking 'Edit.' From here, you can update the following:

  • Name

  • Email

  • Job title

  • Phone number

  • Permission level

  • Role

  • Team

  • Reports to

  • Show profile in Directory


πŸ”Ž People directory

In the people Directory, your whole team can view who is on their team and update their own 'About Me' section.

  1. Go to 'People' on the left navigation menu.

  2. Click 'Directory.'

  3. View everyone in the account, including their job title and bios.

πŸ“ Note: The Directory page is viewable to people with any permission level. Only Admins can make changes to people.

  1. Go to 'People' on the left navigation menu.

  2. Click on 'Manage' or 'Directory' (either will work)!

  3. Click on yourself (or anyone if you're an Admin).

  4. Click 'See full profile' from the slide-out if navigating from within the 'Directory' view.

  5. Click 'Add Bio.'

    1. If you have already added a bio, you can make edits by clicking the three dots to the right of your text.

  6. Enter text and 'Save.'

    1. πŸ“ Note: Admin permission levels can create or update a bio for all people.


πŸ‘₯ Org chart

This section allows you to build out your organizational structure right within Trainual.

  1. Go to 'People' on the left navigation menu.

  2. Click 'Org Chart.'

  3. Select 'Add Org Chart' (or 'Edit Chart' if you've already started it).

  4. Select a Highest Ranking Individual (this is required).

  5. Choose who each team member reports to, and you are all set.
    **Changes to your Org Chart are automatically saved.

πŸ“‹ Role chart

This section allows you to map your current (and future) reporting structure by role.

  1. Navigate to the Org Chart page by clicking 'People' on your left-hand navigation menu and selecting 'Org Chart.'

  2. Click on the 'Roles' tab on the top left-hand corner of the screen

  3. Press the 'Edit Chart' button

  4. Select the highest-ranking role from the dropdown menu (this is likely your CEO or president role)

  5. Select the role that each role reports to using the dropdown menus

  6. Optional: Click the 'Create Role' button to create a new role without leaving the Role chart page. You can quickly add multiple roles at once with suggestions based on your industry!

  7. When you're all done, head to 'Account Settings' and publish your Role Chart so the whole team can reference it.

  8. πŸ’‘Optional: Hide the role chart from non-Admins in specific roles by keeping the role chart toggle to ON and selecting roles from the dropdown.


πŸ‘©β€πŸ« Roles

You can now manage everyone's roles and add responsibilities to define them, all in one place.

  1. Go to 'People' on the left navigation menu.

  2. Click 'Roles.'

  3. Create a new role, or select the one you'd like to edit.

  4. Within a specific role's page, you can add responsibilities, manage assigned subjects, and manage people assigned.
