We all have our jobs to do, and in Trainual, it's no different. **[Giving someone the proper permission level](https://help.trainual.com/en/articles/5561194-add-new-teammates?hsLang=en)** ensures that your content maintains a high level of quality and that team members can only access what they need. Below, we'll go over each permission type, what it *does* and *does not* allow, and who you think you should give it to. Remember, ALL permission levels allow users to consume assigned content and have access to an individual ***[Home](https://help.trainual.com/en/articles/8098477-the-home-page?hsLang=en)*** page! πŸ“– --- ### **Billing Admin** The Billing Admin can manage all account settings and billing and subscription plan information. This is the top-level permission and is ideal for anyone who needs full access to your Trainual account. **A Billing Admin can:** - Add, archive, and delete people and designate permissions. - Add, edit, and assign any **[groups](https://help.trainual.com/en/articles/8190371-groups?hsLang=en)**. - Create, edit, publish, and assign subjects. - Add and update "**[Billing & plan](https://app.trainual.com/settings/billing?hsLang=en)**" information. - To be added: Training PathsΒ  --- ### **Admin** The Admin permission allows all the same abilities as the Billing Admin *except* the ability to manage "Billing & plan" information. πŸ“ **Please note:** You don't have a limit (other than seat licenses) to the number of Billing Admins or Admins you can have in your account. However, we strongly recommend being careful about whom you give Admin permissions. Β  --- ### **Author** This permission allows the user to participate in the creation of content. The Author's permission is ideal for **[subject matter experts](https://trainual.com/manual/subject-matter-experts-your-teams-superpower)** who will create and/or vet content. **An Author can:** - Create and publish new subjects. - Assign subjects to teammates. - Access, add, and edit templates from the Trainual template index page. - Access subjects and the *Home* page. **An Author cannot:** - Edit or assign subjects that have yet to be assigned to them. - Move or reorganize subjects between companies, policies, and processes. πŸ”₯ **Tip:** Be sure to double-check that the **[subject content access](https://help.trainual.com/en/articles/5575360-manage-subject-content-access?q=permission&hsLang=en)** given also matches the permissions and responsibilities you are looking to grant these teammates. --- ### **Contributor** Similar to Author permission, this permission allows a user to participate in the creation of content *without* the ability to publish it. The Contributor permission is ideal for subject matter experts who simply contribute content. **A Contributor can:** - Edit subjects that have been assigned to them, including Trainual templates. - Change subject status to "Pending Review." - Access the *Home* page. **A Contributor cannot:** - Create new subjects. - Add templates from the Trainual template index page. - Publish or assign subjects. - Edit subjects that have yet to be assigned to them. - Move or reorganize subjects between companies, policies, and processes. πŸ”₯ **Tip:** Be sure to double-check that the **[subject content access](https://help.trainual.com/en/articles/5575360-manage-subject-content-access?q=permission&hsLang=en)** given also matches the permissions and responsibilities you are looking to grant these teammates. --- ### **General** This is the most basic permission level offered and is ideal for those who will simply be in the account to consume the content assigned to them (aka a trainee).
