☑️ *Here’s how bulk group actions help you keep structure in place:*

- 🏷️ **Relabel group types in a snap**. Switch any selection of groups to [**a new label**](https://help.trainual.com/en/bulk-actions-groups#change-type), like roles or teams that are now departments, so everything stays accurate.
- ➕ **Build new groups from existing ones**. Fill a new group [**with people from existing groups**](https://help.trainual.com/en/bulk-actions-groups#add-users-from-existing-groups), so you don't have to track down and add each individual.
- 🧹 **Clear out what you don't need anymore**. [**Retire any groups**](https://help.trainual.com/en/bulk-actions-groups#delete) you’ve since moved on from to keep your lists focused on what today’s teams look like.

### Access bulk group actions:

Your groups are just a few clicks away from a fresh update. Here’s where to find the different bulk group action features. 👇

🔥 **Tips**:

- ☑️ **To select all the groups** on your current tab (up to 50 groups), check the box next to the “Name” column header.
- ❌ **To clear your group selections**, click "Unselect all" in the group action bar or the "x" at the far right side of the bar.

### Bulk change group types:

The right group types make it easier to filter, share content, and find existing teams fast. Audit and update your group types periodically to keep everything precise and aligned.

1. **Click** "[**Groups**](https://help.trainual.com/en/articles/8190371-groups?hsLang=en)" from the left-hand navigation menu.
2. **Choose the tab for the group type you want to update**, or stay on the "All" tab to see every group in one list.
3. **Check the box next to each group** that you want to update.
4. **Click** “**Change group type**” in the group action bar.
5. **Choose the new group type** from the pop-up.
6. **Hit the** “**Save**” **button** to confirm. Your selected groups automatically move under their new group type.

### Bulk add users from existing groups:

Why add people one by one when they’re already grouped for you? Grab full user lists from existing groups and quickly add those people into your new group.

1. **Click** "[**Groups**](https://help.trainual.com/en/articles/8190371-groups?hsLang=en)" from the left-hand navigation menu.
2. **Open** **any existing group**.
3. Scroll down to the "**Group members**" **section** and hit the "**Add members**" **button**.
4. **Search for and add groups** fromthe pop-up.
5. **Hit the** “**Save**” **button** to confirm. The individual members of the groups you've selected now belong to this group too.

📝 **Please note**: This action works like a one-time copy of each selected group’s members. People who join those groups you copied over from later won’t be added automatically to the group you've just updated.

🔥 **Tip**: If you're building "parent" groups, like an accounting department that includes your accountant and financial planner roles, this is the fastest way to fill them up!

### Bulk delete groups:

Give your groups page a refresh by removing the groups you no longer need, so your team can always find the right roles, teams, departments, and locations fast.

1. **Click** "[**Groups**](https://help.trainual.com/en/articles/8190371-groups?hsLang=en)" from the left-hand navigation menu.
2. **Choose the tab for the group type you want to delete**, or stay on the "All" tab to see every group in one list.
3. **Check the box next to each group** that you want to delete.
4. **Click** “**Delete**” in the group action bar.
5. **Hit the** “**Delete**” **button** in the pop-up to confirm.

📝 **Please note**:

- When you delete a group, **all of its members lose any linked content access**, and those content assignments **can't be restored**.
- Additionally, deleted group info (descriptions, responsibilities, software & tools, group managers, and group members) **can’t be restored in the app**. If you need to restore a group's info, please [**open a ticket**](https://help.trainual.com/en/articles/7974748-contact-trainual?hsLang=en) with the Trainual support team.
