Trainual's In-App Video Recorder
Learn how to capture training with your screen, camera, or both and drop the recording straight into Trainual.
Some things are just easier to talk about or show. With Trainual's in-app screen recorder, you can demo a walkthrough or record a quick team message and add it straight to your content in just a few clicks. π₯
π Before you start:
- This feature is available under all current Trainual plans. For legacy customers, please contact support for questions about your subscription.
- The information below is best suited for content creators. For more specifics around which areas of the account and pieces of content your employees can access, review their permissions and subject content access.
- π Please note: Trainual's in-app screen recorder is replacing the legacy Loom integration. Customers that signed up for Trainual prior to April 7th, 2026, will see both tool options to record with for now.

Overview:
Built right into your content editor, your recorder helps you go from "do I have time to write this?" to "it was captured live in Trainual right now" without switching tabs. Tribal knowledge into visual and audio trainable content β quick as a flash. β‘
π¬ Lights, camera, document!
- Record how you need to. Choose the recording style that fits your content β whether that's a full, step-by-step process walkthrough with audio, a quick face-to-camera message, a simple screen grab, or something in between.
- Pause, restart, or cancel on the fly. Recording controls give you the flexibility to take a breath, start over from the top, or scrap a take without losing your place.
- Keep building while your video processes. Drop your recording into your content, and while it loads, keep documenting.
Simple to use, built right in, and ready whenever you are. Time to step into the spotlight!

FAQs:
Is there a library where I can find all my recordings in one place?
No. Each recording lives inside the content where it was originally created rather than in a central library. If this is something you'd like to see added, send us your thoughts.
How much recording storage do I have, and how do I track it?
Recording storage limits depend on your Trainual subscription. Billing Admins can review current storage amounts and usage on the account's billing and plans page.
-
Core: 2gb (screen recording storage only β no hosted video functionality.)
-
Pro: 15gb (both hosted video and screen recording storage.)
-
Premium + Enterprise: Unlimited (both hosted video and screen recording storage.)
Are there time limits on in-app recordings?
Nope! There's no cap on how long an individual recording can be β record for as long as you need. Just keep in mind that all recordings count toward your total storage limit, which varies by plan (see the FAQ above π).
How can I submit my feedback and ideas about features?
If you'd like to share your thoughts about the in-app recorder or think of something else you'd like to see added in the future, send us your feature requests and ideas.
