Lock and Unlock Subjects

Learn how to lock and unlock your subjects so content edits only happen when they are approved.

Let's say you've built an amazing subject. It covers training content and looks just how you want it to look. How do you make sure it stays that way? You lock it! πŸ”’

πŸ“ Please note: Only Admin+ or subject owners can lock and unlock subjects.


To lock a subject:

First, be sure you are done editing the subject before proceeding. When you're ready, follow the steps outlined below to lock your subject in place.

  1. Click the three-dot menu to the right of your subject title.

  2. Select "Edit subject settings" from the drop-down.

  3. Open the "Advanced subject settings" section from the pop-up window.

  4. Turn on the "Lock content editing" feature by checking the box to the left.

  5. Hit "Save" to update your subject.

πŸ“ Please note: A padlock icon will appear next to the subject title, letting you and other content creators with access know the subject is locked from editing.


To unlock a subject:

  1. Click the three-dot menu to the right of your subject title.

  2. Select "Edit subject settings" from the drop-down.

  3. Open the "Advanced subject settings" section from the pop-up window.

  4. Turn off the "Lock content editing" feature by unchecking the box to the left.

  5. Hit "Save" to update your subject.

πŸ“ Please note: Your subject is now editable by any content creator with access.
