A role chart is like an org chart, but it helps map out reporting structure by role — showing who does what across your business. And now, Trainual AI will do all the heavy lifting for you — building your entire company role chart in a click!
👉 Before you start:
Trainual role charts are available for all plans.
Only content creators with a permission level of Admin+ (Admins and Billing Admins) will have access to edit a role chart.
To generate an AI-created role chart:
Navigate to the Org Chart page by clicking "People" from the left-hand navigation menu and selecting "Org Chart."
Click "Roles" from the tab options at the top of the screen.
Press the "Build role chart" button to begin. If this is not your very first time creating a role chart, you will see a button that says "Edit chart" here instead.
Select the “Auto-generate role chart button,” and Trainual AI will create a complete role chart using all the roles in your account.
📝 Please note: If this is your first time using the Trainual AI role chart, you will also see an overview pop-up screen that outlines the feature and a note about agreeing to the Terms of Service before proceeding. For any questions or concerns, the support team is available at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you see this button greyed out, double-check that you have added the highest-ranking role and at least two other roles to the account.

Review the role chart for accuracy and edit and adjust as needed. If you add more roles in the future and need to update your role chart, just click “Regenerate role chart.”
