Common translation needs and scenarios:
Here are a few ways you can make multi-language support more flexible to meet your team’s unique needs.
📑 Keeping subject content "as-is."
There may be times when presenting subjects in their original format is needed or necessary. For example, when you’re training in more than one language within a step or when legal descriptions must be shown to the team untouched.
Regardless of the reason, updating an individual subject's settings will stop multi-language support from translating the subject's displayed content at the step level.
- Click on the three dots to the right of your subject title from the subject edit page.
- Choose "Edit subject settings" from the drop-down menu options.
- Open the "Advanced subject settings" section by clicking on the downward arrow.
- Check the box "Do not allow translation of this content."
- Hit the "Save" button to apply this change.
💡 Combining multi-language support with smart tools.

FAQs:
Can I predetermine language settings for my new hires?
No. Accounts will default to English unless otherwise changed post-creation via a personal user's multi-language account setting.
Will multi-language support translate my view under the Trainual mobile app?
No. Multi-language support translations are only available via a desktop browser.
Will multi-language support automatically translate my original content within my text editor when I am under "Edit mode"?
No. Content displayed in the text editor under "Edit mode" will always show in the language it was originally written in within this view.
What if I don’t want my users to experience one of my subject's content in a different language?
We recommend turning on the "Do not allow translation of this content" advanced subject setting for these cases. This will ensure that the information you've already created at the step level displays "as-is" but still allows the platform translation to continue benefitting your teammates who've turned on this individual setting.
How can I submit my feedback and ideas about features?
If you'd like to share your thoughts about the multi-language support translations or think of something else you'd like to see added in the future, send us your feature requests and ideas.
